May the LORD Cover Your Head In The Day of Battle

This morning, whilst I was meditating on the prayer I was going to write, the Lord gave me the word “Battle”. I wondered what this meant, and then I got a revelation from the Lord that whether we realise it or not, we are in a battle. Just like King David in the Old Testament, we are all in a battle. The battle of life, struggles of all sorts, creating fear and insecurity in the lives of many. Humanity is struggling to remain ruler over all things, trying to grasp the true meaning of life, fighting for power and superiority and looking for an answer that no one is able to give. For the majority, fear has taken over a large percentage of their lives. The era we are in is an era of uncertainty, fear and insecurity, major challenges, battles and struggles.

The current economic climate across the world is a clear indication of the times that we are in. No longer can one rely on their salaries or jobs alone. That era is far gone from us. No longer can we rely on each other anymore, we must not rely on men and means. Many have become “lovers of self”, and everyone is busy trying to make a living to pay bills. The rat race continues without any sign of it stopping. Wherever we are, at home or abroad, we are exposed to danger more than we are aware of.

Thinking about all these, the question that comes to mind is the same question that King David asked whilst he was engaged in battle,

“I will lift up my eyes to the hills—
From whence comes my help?”

Answer:

“My help comes from the LORD,
Who made heaven and earth.”

If you are afflicted by sickness, you are in a battle, if you are struggling and finding it hard to pay your bills and your are not able to find a job, you are in a battle, if you are feeling low and depressed, hearing voices of defeat and failure, you are surely in a battle.

David trusted God to cover his head in the day of battle. He realised that he needed help; otherwise he would not survive the battle. He realised that he needed God’s help in order to gain victory. This was what led him to write Psalm 121. This psalm directs and encourages us to rest ourselves and our confidence in God.

I pray that you would rest your heart and put your confidence in God. I pray that by faith you would put yourself under God’s protection and commit yourself to His care, with an entire resignation and satisfaction that your help will come from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

I recommend and encourage you to read and confess Psalm 121 to yourself every night before you go to sleep. There is power in God’s Word.

Please take the time to pray this prayer now and set the spiritual fire in the Word of God in motion in your life.

Your Confession:

1     I (..insert your name..) will lift up my eyes to the hills—
       From whence comes my help?

2     My help comes from the LORD,
       Who made heaven and earth.

3    He will not allow (..insert your name..) foot to be moved;
      He who keeps (..insert your name..) will not slumber.

4    Behold, He who keeps (..insert your name..)
      Shall neither slumber nor sleep.

5    The LORD is (..insert your name..) keeper; (repeat this line x3)
      The LORD is my shade at my right hand.

6    The sun shall not strike (..insert your name..) by day,
      Nor the moon by night.

7    The LORD shall preserve (..insert your name..) from all evil;
      He shall preserve my soul.

8    The LORD shall preserve my going out and my coming in
       From this time forth, and even forevermore.

I agree with you as you appropriate this prayer for yourself in Jesus Name. Amen.

Remember this: “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.” (Matthew 11:12) KJV

Go out there and take it by force!

If you are ill, take back your health, take it by force! If you are feeling low and depressed, take back your mental well being, lift up your head and take your wholeness back, take it by force! If you are hearing voices of defeat and failure, take back your success and victory, take it by force! If you are struggling to get a job, or feeling threatened that you might lose your job, claim your victory, confess your victory, claim your job, read the Word, stand on the Word, appropriate it to yourself and take back what belongs to you, by force! If you are struggling with your bills, get your confession right, take the Word of God, sling it at the devil and knock down any Goliath standing before you. God will provide for you, His name is Jehovah Jireh. Go on, take back what belongs to you. Take it by force! Take it now, don’t let go. Take it by force! The victory is yours in Jesus Name. Amen.
